VYDC is a social and cultural hub for San Francisco's Southeast Asian youth and their families. Throughout the year VYDC gives low-income Southeast Asian youth, who may not otherwise have an opportunity, a chance to participate in fun social and meaningful cultural activities. VYDC events include cultural celebrations, field trips, sports activities, and Friday night hangouts. Our monthly field trips provide cultural enrichment for immigrant and refugee youth, including museums, theatre performances, parks, or movie screenings. Join us for an opportunity to get out of the Tenderloin neighborhood and explore the many diverse social and cultural events San Francisco has to offer.

SF Prevention Coalition End of Year Meet Up

SF Underage Alcohol Prevention Coalition End of Year Meet Up is an event to celebrate the coalition and showcase the accomplishments of the youth and adult allies this year. With their adult allies, youth in the coalition worked on city wide campaigns addressing positive social norms surrounding perceptions of underage drinking and the neighborhood research on alcohol density. The coalition members are made of youth and adults from the following agencies: Asian American Recovery Service, Inc., Center for Open Recovery, Community Youth Center, Horizons Unlimited, Inc., Japanese Community Youth Council, Omi/Excelsior Beacon Center, South of Market Community Action Network, Vietnamese Youth Development Center, and Youth Leadership Institute. The event will take place on Thursday, May 11th at 940 Howard Street at 5pm.
