Events

VYDC is a social and cultural hub for San Francisco's Southeast Asian youth and their families. Throughout the year VYDC gives low-income Southeast Asian youth, who may not otherwise have an opportunity, a chance to participate in fun social and meaningful cultural activities. VYDC events include cultural celebrations, field trips, sports activities, and Friday night hangouts. Our monthly field trips provide cultural enrichment for immigrant and refugee youth, including museums, theatre performances, parks, or movie screenings. Join us for an opportunity to get out of the Tenderloin neighborhood and explore the many diverse social and cultural events San Francisco has to offer.

VYDC's 42nd Anniversary Gala: Thriving Together: An evening to celebrate the Southeast Asian community

On April 25th, 2019, we’re hosting our annual gala fundraising event at the Marines’ Memorial Club. This year’s theme is “Thriving Together: An evening to celebrate the Southeast Asian community,” and will celebrate our collective achievements and vision for the future, feature distinguished leaders, and highlight stories from our youth and families which will surely be moving and inspiring. The event will also include a sit-down dinner, cocktails, cultural performances, and a silent auction. Our fundraising goal for this year’s gala is $75,000 -- which will help us to serve the over 500 immigrants and refugees who come through the center for academic and life skills support, language access services, job training and placement, housing support, and leadership development.
